Customer Database or Mailing List?

When it comes to reaching customers using direct mail, you essentially have two options. The first, and by far the most effective, is to use your own customer database. Reaching your existing customers means communicating with people who already know you. In this case, your goal is to see them more often and to get them to spend more with you each time they visit.

Purchasing a Mailing List

If you need to reach men aged 45 - 49, with a household income of more $150,000, you can do that. If you need to reach a family with children, you can do this too. In fact, you can reach almost any group of people you want - as long as they represent the best opportunity for generating sales.

Unlike "Junk Mail" which blankets an entire area, "Direct Mail" allows you to pinpoint your best audience based on myriad of demography and geographic variables. For example, if you know most of your customers live within 4-1/2 miles of your store, you don't need to reach people who live outside of this area. You can even target homes within a specific drive time of your store!

Business Mailing List

If you market directly to businesses, direct mail is a powerful tool. However, we have found that to really get the most out of direct mail program, you need to follow-up with a phone call. Businesses get loads and loads of direct mailings each day. To get through the clutter, you need to think outside the box. Using direct mail to advertise your business to another business is TOUGH, but not impossible.
